In this article, we will explain how to create a secondary phone number in Lead Hero and add it to your Google My Business profile.
Why You Should Do This
Adding a secondary phone number to your Google My Business (GMB) profile ensures that leads who find your business on GMB are captured in Lead Hero. This allows you to track and follow up with every potential customer, as the lead will automatically appear as an opportunity in your pipeline. Calls will still be redirected to your office, so the customer experience remains unchanged. This is a powerful way to prevent missed opportunities and maximize your lead conversion.
Step 1: Purchasing a Phone Number in Lead Hero CRM
- Navigate to the Phone Numbers Section
- Click on Settings in the left-hand menu.
- Select Phone Numbers from the settings menu.
- Click the "Add Number" button.
- Click "Add Phone Number".
- Choose your preferred country (e.g., USA, Canada, UK).
- Click Filter to search for your desired phone number.
- Click Refresh Results to see available numbers.
- Browse through the available phone numbers and choose the one you prefer.
- Click "Proceed to Buy".
- Select the Regulatory Bundle from the dropdown list to connect it with your new number. (mobile or landline)
- If the Regulatory Bundle does not exist in your account for the type of the number you created, you need to first create a Regulatory Bundle. Here are the instructions on how to do this:
- How to submit Business Regulatory Bundle/Address - if you are registered with UK Companies House and you have CRN number
- How to submit Individual Regulatory Bundle/Address - if you don't have the CRN number
- How to Submit A2P Campaign - for businesses in US and Canada
- Confirm your purchase.
Step 2: Configure the new number

Click Edit Configuration to set up your new number correctly.

Add a Name (e.g., Google My Business).

Add a Forwarding Number – Choose where calls to your new number should be redirected (e.g., main office, front desk, or mobile phone).

Deselect the Enable Call Connect feature.

Enable Call Recording.

Set Incoming and Outgoing Call Timeout to 40 or 60 seconds.
Step 3: Add the Phone Number to your Google Business Profile
To add your phone number to Google My Business, you can:

- Log in to your Google Business Profile,
- Go to Edit Profile,
- Go to Contact,
- Click the pencil icon next to the "Phone Number",
- Move your primary number to the Additional phone
- Add Lead Hero number is the primary phone:
- Click Save,
- Wait for Google to review your changes.
